Terms and Conditions
Welcome to CrowdCast: Visualizing Crowding Uncertainties for Informed Decision-Making. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in this research study and use of the CrowdCast mobile application developed by undergraduate students from De La Salle University–Manila, under the supervision of Dr. Briane Paul V. Samson.
1. Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to collect and process crowdsourced crowding data from Metro Manila’s rail systems (LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3) to analyze how uncertainty visualizations affect commuter decision-making.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using the CrowdCast application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and the Data Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a regular commuter using Metro Manila’s rail systems to participate in this study.
4. Proper Use
The CrowdCast application is designed for research purposes only. Users agree to submit honest and accurate crowd reports, and use the app solely for the activities described in the study.
5. Data Collection
The application records location data and timestamps. All data collected is used exclusively for research and analysis within this study.
6. Incentives
Participants may be eligible for incentives such as raffle prizes.
7. Confidentiality
All information collected through the app will be kept confidential. No personally identifiable data will be disclosed or published. Data will be stored in secured, password-protected systems.
8. Limitation of Liability
The research team and De La Salle University shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use or misuse of the app. The app does not provide real-time safety guidance.
